Epilepsy And Seizures

Epilepsy is a chronic disorder that causes unprovoked, recurrent seizures. A seizure is a sudden rush of electrical activity in the brain.
There are two main types of seizures:
A mild seizure may be difficult to recognize. It can last a few seconds during which you lack awareness.

Stronger seizures can cause spasms and uncontrollable muscle twitches, and can last a few seconds to several minutes. During a stronger seizure, some people become confused or lose consciousness and have no memory of it afterward.
If you’re diagnosed with epilepsy, there are several ways to get treatment. A combination of medication, a special diet, an implant that works on your nerves or brain, and surgery could all help someone with epilepsy manage their illness.

We specialise in complete brain and mind care.

At Buddhi, We offer a comprehensive program of blended healing that brings together the best each discipline offers – from Brain Stimulation to Psychological Therapy, Ayurveda to Yoga, Cognitive Stimulation to Naturopathy, Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy Access Buddhi Services through Home Care, In-Hospital & Online models.

Integrative therapy can be beneficial for individuals with epilepsy, as it can provide a holistic approach to seizure management. Integrative therapy may include interventions such as meditation, acupuncture, nutritional therapy, and stress reduction techniques. These therapies can help manage stress and anxiety, which can trigger seizures. They can also help improve overall well-being and quality of life for people with epilepsy. By combining different therapies, integrative therapy provides a personalized approach that addresses the individual’s unique needs and challenges. It can complement medication, reducing the frequency and severity of seizures and improving overall health outcomes.

Diagnosis

While the diagnosis is clinical, at Buddhi Clinic we use a combination of brain imaging, electrophysiology and blood tests to rule out reversible causes or other contributing factors. We also prescribe a thorough pre-rehabilitation assessment including an evaluation for co-morbidities (associated conditions) which will be required in all instances. At Buddhi Clinic our assessment includes standard outcome indicators for activities of daily life, quality of life, neuro-disability and mental health.
