A myriad of inflammatory, infectious and metabolic syndromes can affect our nervous system. Many of these have lasting consequences on the brain and mind and it is these consequences that we are concerned with at Buddhi Clinic.
Neurological infections encompass a large variety of conditions that invade and affect the nervous system. Despite advances in therapy and the development of early detection techniques, many of these conditions can cause severe, chronic and even life threatening problems for those affected by them.
Various different organisms can target the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves, with bacteria, viruses and fungi all causing different symptoms. However, the characteristic signs of infection that may be present include:
While the diagnosis is clinical, brain imaging, electrophysiology, blood tests to rule out reversible causes or indeed contributing factors and a thorough pre-rehabilitation assessment including evaluation for co-morbidities (associated conditions) will be required in all instances. At Buddhi Clinic our assessment includes standard outcome indicators for activities of daily life, quality of life, neuro-disability and mental health.
We assess patients with these potentially reversible disorders of the brain in depth and build for them a customized & comprehensive rehabilitation program.

Despite my many redeeming qualities, the world views me with trepidation, not understanding that my responses are wired into me, through nature and nurture, by my evolved status as a guardian breed, created for humankind, by humankind, of humankind.
What intrigues me about the mastiff is its “sixth sense”, the instinct to modulate its behaviour in accordance with the human species; to have a place for everyone in its heart, and for everyone to have a place in its social pecking order.
