Buddhi Clinic featured in Culturama magazine
Buddhi Clinic’s founder Dr. Ennapadam S Krishnamoorthy was recently featured in an article by Team Culturama. The article explores our successful chain of clinics across Chennai and dives into the subject of modern medicine, and its co-relation to ancient traditions.
A 360 degree approach
Dr. Ennapadam S Krishnamoorthy explained the holistic approach Buddhi Clinic takes to understand a condition to reach a diagnosis, which includes a 360-degree evaluation of the body, mind and brain. He states that Buddhi Clinic’s process is a carefully curated one, managed by process-driven programmes. He further explains, “While our diagnostic approach and internal treatments are allopathic, we employ 14 non-pharmacological treatments that blend modern science with ancient wisdom - neuromodulation, Ayurveda, acupuncture, acupressure, reflexology and yoga.” In addition to these treatments, he adds that Buddhi Clinic also offers naturopathy - like water, mud, magnet, and aroma treatments - and a range of rehabilitation therapies - such as speech therapy, physiotherapy, neurodevelopmental therapy, and a range of other specialized psychological therapies.
Dr. Ennapadam S Krishnamoorthy adds that this wide range of therapies that target different medical concerns is not limited to a certain age group. He states that Buddhi Clinic has treated children, adults and the elderly alike. He then touched upon the subject of the ‘Buddhi Books’, which are collections of case studies conducted and initiated by Buddhi Clinic. The books detail how each case study has enhanced research, helped derive solutions, enriched collective learning, and driven exemplary results in patients, so as to achieve a better quality of daily life.
Ancient medicine with a modern twist
When asked about what Dr. Ennapadam S Krishnamoorthy believed to be the one equation that sets Buddhi Clinic apart from the rest, he answered, “Everyone has a brain and a mind; and sometimes, during the course of our lives, our brain and mind malfunction, needing deconstruction and sorting out. That indeed is the raison d'être of Buddhi Clinic.” He continued, “Rather than rely on single solutions, drug treatments, procedures or therapy, we have created a smorgasbord of interventions, modern and ancient.”
To conclude, he highlighted the result of the culmination of Buddhi Clinic’s tireless efforts and research. He says, “We have thus enabled both opportunity for healing and as importantly, patient choice. Chronic disorders are not always curable; but as the adage goes, ‘We cure sometimes, control often, but comfort always!’ Our treatments are designed to help people make unique ‘recover journeys’; from illness to wellness, care that goes beyond cure. Finally, at Buddhi Clinic, we think different. Not just about illness or disablement; but about ability and enablement.”
When asked about Buddhi Clinic’s vision, Dr. Ennapadam S Krishnamoorthy stated that the goal for the year 2020 is to demonstrate Buddhi Clinic’s capability to serve populations beyond Chennai. Currently functioning with five centers in Chennai, Buddhi Clinic has its eyes set on opportunities to partner with doctors across relevant disciplines in a range of locations as continuing pioneers and leaders in integrated care with a brain and mind focus. He hopes to see Buddhi Clinic with a global outreach in the coming years as well.
